Cat Out of the Bag Alert!  This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: An Airplane! style spoof of The Godfather and other mob movies.

Kitty Cameo: In the segment which spoofs the opening scenes of the original Godfather, Vincenzo Cortino (Lloyd Bridges) takes the Brando role and is sitting in his office listening to requests for favors. As in the original movie a cat is seated on Cortino’s lap (in the original it was a tabby cat while this cat is mostly auburn in color with only slight tabby markings).

Cortino sets the cat down on the desk as he gets up.

Kitty Carnage Warning!  In this version, Cortino is a hopeless klutz and he immediately bangs his head into a lamp. As he does this, he knocks the lid of a cigar humidor down, cutting off the cat’s tail. In freeze frame you can see the cat is likely a Manx and the tail is fake.

The cat then flies through the air.

The cat is not seen again after this but its tail is still in the cigar box, wagging. Cortino eventually picks it up and tries to light it but it keeps waving back and forth. And when he finally goes light it a pained meow is heard.

Final Mewsings: Humidors and cat tails apparently do not mix.
