Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Corky (Anthony Hopkins) is a struggling magician who finds sudden success when he incorporates ventriloquism and a dummy named Fats into his act but things go wrong when Fats seems to be telling Corky what to do.
Kitty Cameo: In order to evade his agent Ben Greene (Burgess Meredith), Corky drives to some remote cabins run by a former high school crush named Peggy Ann Snow (Ann-Margret). Peggy owns a not named tabby cat which is first seen lying on the bed behind her.
For some reason the cat comes running to have a look-see when Corky is using Fats to bludgeon Ben to death in the woods. The cat takes in the scene very nonchalantly.
The only other time the cat is seen is when Peggy Ann looks down the stairs thinking she is hearing her husband coming in. The cat is running down the stairs.
Final Mewsings: Cats find homicide moderately interesting.
Many thanks to Mark Murton for reminding us of the cat in this film!
