Synopsis: This series created for Netflix is about three mermaids named Lyla (Lucy Fry), Nixie (Ivy Latimer) and Sirena (Amy Ruffle) who become outcasts from their pod after a human teenaged boy named Zac (Chai Romruen) accidentally falls into their mystical moon pool and obtains magical mermaid powers. In this episode, the mermaids, who are visiting the city where Zac lives, meet a mysterious woman named Rita who has more of a connection with them than they first realize.
Featured Feline: Rita owns a beautiful white Chinchilla cat named Poseidon, who is played by a cat actor named Monte. When the mermaids arrive at Rita’s house, Poseidon jumps up in the windowsill and looks down at them. It is the first time they ever see a cat and they are terrified of him and run away screaming.
Later when they see the cat inside the house, they are just as nervous as ever, sensing the cat is their natural enemy, even though Poseidon treats them mostly with indifference. Poseidon is a regular character on the series and shows up in several episodes of the first season (season two is currently in production.)
Final Mewsings: As we learned from the Miranda movies, cats are not interested in mermaids.
