Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: An American screenwriter named Anderson (Alex Holdridge) wonders if he will ever find a love as great as the one he found with Norwegian dancer Lina (Linnea Saasen) during a vacation in Montenegro.
Kitty Cameos: At the beginning of the film we see Anderson break up with a girlfriend. He has to say goodbye to her white Persian cat.
Anderson goes to Berlin and meets with his friend Stephen (Rupert Friend) who is in a relationship with a woman named Friederike (Jennifer Ulrich). As Stephen and Anderson walk together they pass a man looking for homes for two kittens in a carrier; a tuxedo kitten and a gray kitten.
Stephen stops and apologizes to the kittens, saying he loves them but he doesn’t want to commit to the long-term care of them. This is the same issue he is having with Frederike.
Featured Feline: Later in the film after some difficulties, Stephen changes and decides to commit to Frederike. As a gesture of his commitment, he brings home the tuxedo kitten.
Stephen talks to the kitten, telling him that Frederike will give him a name and that he hopes the kitten will make it up to Frederike for him.
At a special dinner that night Stephen gives Frederike the kitten. She is thrilled.
Frederike ends up naming the kitten Charlie.
Unfortunately despite the effort, Frederike ends up leaving Stephen. Anderson comes over to console his friend as both of them have broken relationships. They are seen with Charlie a few more times.
Kitty Cameos: At the end of the film Anderson goes to Montenegro to find Lina. In one shot he is sitting with three black cats, two with white markings.
Final Mewsings: Cats aren’t afraid of commitment!
