Synopsis: Low budget bit of nonsense about a reclusive woman named Miss Leslie who reluctantly welcomes a group of stranded young people to her home where not-so-subtle secrets abound.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): Miss Leslie owns a black cat named Tom who is “jolly company.” Tom is first shown jumping off a chair in the moments after the opening credits.

Miss Leslie greets her guests while holding Tom.

She isn’t sure about the visitors at first but then assures Tom that they are “nice people” and offers them her hospitality.

Carrying Tom, she eventually leads the group upstairs.

After showing everyone to their rooms Miss Leslie spends quite a bit of time loitering in the hallway and eavesdropping into their rooms. Occassionally she motions to Tom to be quiet when he starts to meow.

Tom gets one nice close up while sitting in a chair.

Moments later as Miss Leslie passes by, Tom does a bit of scene stealing by pushing himself across the chair behind her.

The last we see Tom is when the sole male of the stranded group, Roy (Charles Pitt), wanders downstairs and sits with the kitty on the couch. He puts the cat on his lap and spends a few moments with him before letting Tom jump down.

Final Mewsings: Even the cat could see the truth about Miss Leslie right away.
Many thanks to Nick Wale for letting us know about the cat in this film.
