Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Tracy (Lola Kirke) is a college student trying to find her way in the world when she meets her outgoing, gregarious impending stepsister, Brooke (Greta Gerwig) who gives her inspiration to write.
Kitty Cameos: Brooke talks often about her former boyfriend Dylan (Michael Chernus) and his wife Mamie-Claire (Heather Lind) whom Brooke says stole him away from her, as well as her cats. During the course of the story Brooke and Tracy end up at Mamie-Claire and Dylan’s house so Brooke can propose a business investment to them. As Brooke is getting angry with Mamie-Claire she looks down and sees two tabby cats.
Brooke asks, “Are those my f***ing cats?” Mamie-Claire says the cats are hers since she paid for their surgery and Brooke accuses her of lying and not telling her the cats died and were replaced. This is followed up with another shot of the cats. The cats are referred to once more but not seen again.
Final Mewsings: Cat custody battles can get ugly.
