Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) goes overboard when planning for his wedding to Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) who suffers from the lack of control.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): In this episode Larry the cat has been missing and Cameron fears he won’t be coming back. When Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) says she’s worried about Larry, Cameron tells her Larry probably isn’t coming back home. When Lily asks if Larry is dead, Cameron chickens out and tells her that Larry has met a lady cat and gotten married. Lily asks if they will visit and Cameron continues to lie, saying that when cats get married they have to move to the forest so they aren’t tempted by other city cats. In the meantime, Larry has jumped up on the counter behind Cameron!
Lily then wonders where is Larry’s wife. Cameron suggests Larry and his wife broke up but this prompts Lily to ask what would happen if Cameron and Mitchell broke up, so Cameron covers by saying Larry’s wife died. Cameron then goes overboard and says they will have a funeral to celebrate the life of Larry’s wife and he starts making plans for it.
Kitty Cameo: A bunch of people show up to Larry’s wife’s funeral, some with their pets, including an orange tabby cat.
Dylan (Reid Ewing) shows up to dig a grave but accidentally hits a water pipe and sends everyone and their pets scattering inside. The overwheling disaster of the overplanned event makes Cameron realize he needs Mitchell’s help in planning their wedding.
Larry is played by cat actor Frosty.
Final Mewsings: Cats deserve great funerals but only when they are really dead … and really existed.
