Synopsis: Phil (Ty Burrell) prepares to have a vasectomy; Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) tries to adjust to having extra time while Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) is in preschool.
Kitty Cameo: Larry the cat makes his first appearance in this episode. In an opening scene, Lily is eating breakfast with Larry on her lap.
Cameron tells her to get some things she needs for the day. As Lily gets up, Larry jumps down from her lap, leaving a mass of fur on her clothes. Cameron suggests she put on a new outfit not covered with cat hair.
Throughout the episode Cameron eludes to a secret project he is working on. He finally admits to Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) that this project is a mermaid costume for the cat. At this point Mitchell suggests that Cameron might want to think about getting a job. At the end of the episode Jay (Ed O’Neill) and Gloria (Sofía Vergara) are looking at a photo of Cameron holding Larry wearing the mermaid costume on the internet.
Larry is played by cat actor Frosty.
Final Mewsings: Cats don’t like to be embarrassed online.
