Starring: Uma Thurman, Alice Drummond
Directed by: Katherine Dieckmann
Synopsis: The harried day in the life of a Manhattan mother named Eliza (Uma Thurman) who struggles against ridiculous obstacles on the path to preparing a party for her six-year-old daughter.
Kitty Cameo: Eliza and her family live in an old apartment building and her next door neighbor is an elderly woman named Edith (Alice Drummond). Edith owns a tuxedo cat named Lady who sometimes slips out through the open door of Edith’s apartment, which the poor woman has a tendency to leave open.
In the middle of the movie Eliza takes a moment out of her crazy busy day to bring Edith some orange juice and tins of cat food which she has picked up for her. We see the disarray in Edith’s apartment as she sits on the bed petting Lady.
Lady is only seen one more time when she once again walks out of the cracked door of Edith’s apartment. Eliza’s daughter (Celina Vignaud) runs over to pet Lady and then asks her mom if she can get a cat as well.
Final Mewsings: Busy moms find time to take care of everyone, even the neighbor’s cat!
