Synopsis: Trying to cope with the ongoing war at Bougainville in Papua New Guinea, a girl named Matilda (Xzannjah Matsi) becomes fascinated with the book Great Expectations thanks to a teacher named Mr. Pip (Hugh Laurie).

Kitty Cameo: Near the end of the film Matilda visits Mr. Pip’s London home. While there an orange and white tabby Exotic Shorthair cat is seen briefly. First the cat jumps down from a couch where it is lying.

Then the cat is sitting nearby.

Final Mewsings: Cats are happy when politics and war don’t ruin their lives.
