Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains a possible spoiler for this film!

Synopsis: Inspector Peter Lawton (Dennis Price) is on the hunt for the murderous thief known as X and becomes concerned when he starts to suspect the new boyfriend (Philip Saville) of his sister Joan (Peggy Evans) might be the killer.

Kitty Cameo: At the end of the film, Lawton has traced the killer to an abandoned house on the river. Inside the house a twist is revealed and the killer is confronted. At one point we get a very quick shot of a longhair white cat stalking nearby.

This comes in to play when Lawton enters the building with other police and a standoff occurs. The killer is momentarily distracted by the mewing cat who makes his second and only other appearance for this sole purpose.
