Synopsis: Sybylla Melvyn (Judy Davis) is a fiercely independent young woman who longs to be a writer in turn-of-the-century Australia.

Cat Burglars (Scene Stealers): In one scene Sybylla is seen sitting in a tree writing in a notebook.  A black kitten is sitting on the open notebook in her lap while she thinks.  A multi-colored kitten is walking along a tree branch nearby.  Another kitten can be seen below on the ground.

A maid comes to call for Sybylla while the black kittens plays with her pencil.  Sybylla sets the black kitten aside before climbing down.

Final Mewsings: Every cat-loving writer has had a cat lying on their work at one time or another.
