Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: Dave Crabtree (Jerry Van Dyke) promises to take his mother the car (voiced by Ann Sothern) to a drive-in movie to see her favorite screen star Sonny Tufts.
Kitty Cameo: The whole Crabtree family goes to the drive-in in the 1928 Porter which is the reincarnation of Dave’s mother. The excursion proves to be one kooky situation after another, not the least of which is when the Crabtree’s dog spots a Siamese cat in the next car. The driver calls the cat Esmeralda.
At one point the driver of the other car rolls down his window to complain and the dog barks at the cat.
Esmerelda jumps out of the window and runs. The dog is right behind and they race around the drive-in, causing comedy and confusion.
Final Mewsings: Cats may go to the drive-in but they don’t always watch the movie.
