Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: The second segment in an episode which starts with The Waiting Room. Jenny Tarraday (Carol Lynley) buys a strange statue she thinks resembles her husband Bruce (Bill Bixby) but it starts to have a disturbing influence over him.
Near Kitty Carnage Warning!: At one point Bruce is being influenced by the statue, which they have learned is of a sinister Druid sorcerer who had a penchant for animal and human sacrifice. Earlier Bruce had complained about the neighbor’s cat getting in their yard. Now he calls the pretty white long-haired cat over to him.
Bruce picks up the cat and dangles it over the blazing barbecue grill.
The poor cat screeches and cries out, which is done with dubbing since this cat is hardly struggling as one would were it really being held over a hot fire.
Finally the Tarraday’s maid Marta (Janya Braunt) comes out with the food for the grill and sees what is happening and screams, dropping the tray and causing Bruce to drop the cat safely to one side.
Final Mewsings: Cats like barbecue but don’t like to be barbecued.
