Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: A sorority house becomes the center of attention for a bunch of worm-like invaders, an alien experiment gone wrong, who turn people into zombies.
Featured Feline: One girl in the sorority is named Karen (June Harris) and in one scene she settles down to study on a couch. She hears noises coming from outside the French doors and walks over to open them. When she does a spring-loaded cat jumps up into her arms.
The cat’s name is Gordon and she is happy to see him.
Later in the film it is implied that Gorden has died and Karen doesn’t know about it yet. Karen is studying once again when she hears noises outside. She opens the door as Gordon again jumps into her arms.
Kitty Carnage Warning! A scene cut from the theatrical release but shown in the television airings shows one of the worms entering Gordon’s grave. Either way, Karen is horrified to see that Gordon has been turned into a zombie cat.
The cat was named Gordon by director Fred Dekker as an homage to late producer Gordon Carroll, one of Dekker’s mentors.
Final Mewsings: Gordon had obviously already run through all of his nine lives.
