Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: It’s man vs. rat as Bart Hughes (Peter Weller) becomes obsessed with the rat that has invaded his renovated New York brownstone.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): In one scene Bart is walking his assistant Lorrie (Jennifer Dale) to a taxi outside the home. A tabby and white cat can be seen in the background.
After Lorrie leaves, Bart spots the cat and calls to it.
Bart picks up the cat and takes it inside, saying he’s going to put it to work.
Bart talks to the cat, petting it and trying to find something for it to eat. He jokingly suggests dried ketchup, a lime, a cucumber or a banana.
He finally gives the cat some two-week old oysters. He explains that he used to have a cat but that his wife sneezes so he can’t have one any more (his wife is out of town during the course of the film).
When Bart goes across the street to get some supplies, the cat wanders around the home.
Little does the cat know the rat is watching!
Late at night the cat stalks around the house with the rat watching.
Bart is in for a rude awakening the next morning when he finds the cat torn to pieces on top of the refrigerator (we’ll spare you the screen grab!)
Final Mewsings: The cat definitely does not want a cucumber!
