One Hour Photo (2002)

Directed by: Mark Romanek

Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Mild mannered one hour photo developer Sy Parrish (Robin Williams) becomes increasingly obsessed with the lives of the Yorkin family who are regular customers.

Purr Blurs: Sy narrates the film and talks about some of his regular customers. One is Mrs. Von Unwerth (Marion Calvert) who only takes pictures of her cats. Several photographs of the cats are shown, each only on the screen for a very brief time.

There appear to be at least eight to ten cats among the photographs. According to the American Humane Association website, the cat photos were provided by the cast and crew of their own pets to provide more natural images instead of staging new cat pictures specifically for the film.

Later in the film, Sy is looking through a series of photographs of Maya Burson (Erin Daniels). One of the photos is of her with a black cat. Although the actress is seen here with a cat and performed with a cat in The L-Word series, she is reportedly allergic to cats.
