Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: American remake of the Japanese horror film Chakushin ari. A group of friends start received voice messages on their phones which are recorded at the time of their own deaths.
Kitty Cameo: At the beginning of the film a woman named Shelley (Meagan Good) is sitting outside her home. A beautiful Egyptian Mau cat is sitting on the table beside her. The cat then jumps down from the table.
Shelley hears the cat meow and sees it over by the pond. A moment later the cat is gone.
Going to investigate, Shelley looks into the water for the cat. But the cat is now across the pond from her.
The cat screeches as a hand reaches up out of the water and pulls Shelley in.
Kitty Carnage Warning! The cat sits looking at the water nervously. A moment later the hand reaches out and grabs the cat by the neck and pulls it in. This was likely achieved with CGI effects.
Final Mewsings: No wonder cats don’t like water!
