English Title: Orpheus
Andre Paulve Film
Starring: Jean Marais, François Périer, María Casares
Directed by: Jean Cocteau
Synopsis: A modern and surreal retelling of the Greek myth. Orphée (Jean Marais) is a poet struggling for new ideas and gets inspiration from a Princess (María Casares) dressed in black. The “Princess” turns out to have more than a passing interest in him and involves his wife Eurydice (Marie Déa) in her plans.
Purr Blur: When Orphée is running around the streets trying to locate the Princess he returns to the Rolls Royce driven by her driver Heurtebise (François Périer.) Orphée gets into the car and they drive down the street away from the camera. As they are pulling away you can just see a cat further up the street through the windshield.
As the car turns the bend the cat can be seen more clearly just as the scene fades.
Final Mewsings: Incidental cats are fun to spot!
