Synopsis: The story of two misfits from the mid-1880’s; Oscar (Ralph Fiennes), an Anglican priest, and Lucinda (Cate Blanchett), a headstrong Australian girl who comes into a fortune and buys a glass factory.
Featured Feline: Lucinda owns an orange tabby cat which is never called by name. The cat has a little black tie around its neck.
The cat shares several scenes with Lucinda. In one the cat is sitting in the hallway when Lucinda is knocking at Oscar’s door. When he doesn’t answer, she walks over and picks up the animal.
Later the cat is sitting beside Lucinda as she talks to Oscar outside.
Finally the cat is seen sitting on Lucinda’s bed. She has a letter from Oscar which is lying across the cat. Lucinda picks up the letter and gives the cat a scratch on the head.
Final Mewsings: It is a brave woman who owns a cat when she collects glass objects.
