Starring: Orson Welles, Suzanne Cloutier
Directed by: Orson Welles
Synopsis: Screen adaptation of the Shakespeare play. Othello (Orson Welles) elopes with the beautiful Desdemona (Suzanne Cloutier) setting off a series of plots by the schemer Iago (Micheál MacLiammóir).
Kitty Cameos: The first part of the film was shot in Venice and during the opening credits (which are spoken by Welles) several cats of the city can be seen, first in a courtyard.
A tabby cat is then seen eating something as a gandola passes in the background.
A tuxedo cat is then seen on a rooftop.
And finally two of the cats still remain in the courtyard as the story begins.
Final Mewsings: Venice cats are happy to represent!
Many thanks to Ted Davis for letting us know about the cats in this film!
