Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: The stories of several people following their trials and tribulations through love and relationships in Los Angeles.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): One of the stories is about a young woman named Joan (Angelina Jolie) who tries to coax a shy young man named Keenan (Ryan Philippe) to come out of his shell. The first time they meet, Joan is on the phone with her soon-to-be-ex-boyfriend, negotiating about what he can and can’t take from their apartment. She insists on keeping her cat named Blanche. When Joan finally gets Keenan to visit her apartment, he meets Blanche, a surly one-eyed ginger tabby cat who hisses at Keenan before running away.
Blanche is next seen sitting beside Joan as she talks on the phone.
Later when Joan and Keenan are finally together, he admits that he might even learn to like Blanche.
The animal actors for the film were provided by trainer Denise Sanders for Bob Dunn’s Animal Services. We don’t know if an actual one-eyed cat was used (or some kind of prosthetic was applied to the cat actor) but one thing we know for sure . . . at least one of the cats playing Blanche was a tom!
Final Mewsings: Blanche, like her owner, had balls!
