Synopsis: Larry Mackay (David Niven) is a succesful theater critic with a lovely wife, Kate (Doris Day), four young boys and a sheepdog. But their lives undergo a major renovation when they move to a large fixer-upper in the country.
Purr Blurs: Kate’s mother, Suzie (Spring Byington) runs a pet shop. In one scene Kate brings the boys and the dog to the store. When they enter the store two tabby kittens can be seen in a cage just in the frame.
Later Suzie warns one of the boys not to play with the monkey. In the shot of the boy and the monkey a Siamese cat can be seen sitting in a cage in the background.
Kitty Cameo: Once the family has moved to the country their dog, Hobo, is scared of all the unfamiliar fauna. In one scene Larry tries to put him outside. A tuxedo cat is outside on the porch and yowls at the sheepdog, which whines and jumps into Larry’s arms.
Final Mewsings: Don’t mess with country cats!
