Synopsis: When a strange object is unearthed during a London Underground station reconstruction, Professor Bernard Quatermass (Andrew Keir) tries to convince the military of its significance and also its potential danger to mankind.

Purr Blur: The opening scene of the film shows a police bobby on his rounds.  He approaches a corner where a white cat is standing in a doorway.  The cat meows and the officer pauses a moment before continuing down the street to cross in front of the station entrance where the reconstruction is taking place below.

Final Mewsings: That was the last quiet day that cat was to have for some time.
