Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Ruth Martin (Ann Dvorak) tries to help her father Tom (Harry Carey) raise a winning race horse and ends up being courted by a fellow horseman named Steve (Smith Ballew.)
Cat Burglars (Scene Stealers): Early in the movie Ruth and her father finish watching their horse running a time trial. As they enter their home, a tabby cat is sitting just outside.
Ruth pauses to smile then picks the cat up and carries him (or her) inside.
Inside she carries the cat across the room, giving him a little scritch on the head.
Tom sits down on a couch where another tabby cat is already seated.
Eventually Ruth sets the second cat down next to the first. The first then jumps off the couch.
The only time a cat appears again is in a scene shortly after this. One of the cats walks behind Tom and Warbles (Ray Mayer) as they are loading the horse to take to the track.
Final Mewsings: Cats prefer relaxation over racing.
Many thank to Jon R. Kennedy for letting us know the cat’s final appearance in this film!
