Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Long Island socialites Tony Milburn (Robert Young) and Carlota Milburn (Constance Cummings) celebrate their six month wedding anniversary by joining a similarly spoiled, entitled and tiresome group of unregenerate young couples in an orgy of excess, encompassing multiple locations, and which includes abundant drunkenness (public and private), casual adultery and reckless driving . . . not to mention cold-blooded murder.
Purr Blur: The night after the murder, Tony searches for clues in the living quarters of shady chauffeur Baptiste (Jack LaRue). As he pokes into the main room, shining the beam from his flashlight over the furniture, an indignant black cat hops from its comfortable chair, and exits stage right.
Final Mewsings: Cats know to avoid irresponsible and hedonistic alcoholics.
