Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: The second in the Wayan Bros. series of horror film spoofs. Cindy (Anna Farris) and her schoolmates participate in a classroom excursion to a haunted mansion with their Professor (Tim Curry) who is searching for proof of paranormal activity at their expense.
Bad Kitty: A black cat named Mr. Kittles is the resident pet, having belonged to the deceased owners. The caretaker Hanson (Chris Elliott) explains this to Cindy after showing her to her room.
Mr. Kittles next shows up in the library and hisses at Cindy. This is just a foreshadowing of what’s to come.
Later Cindy is in her room when she hears a noise. Mr. Kittles enters the room.
Cindy greets the kitty nicely but the cat flips her the bird.
Mr. Kittles launches at Cindy and a full-blow brawl ensues.
Cindy throws off Mr. Kittles and apologizes for pooping in his litter box. Mr. Kittles is shocked by this.
Not taking it well, Mr. Kittle breaks a beer bottle and goes after her. They struggle over the deadly implement.
Mr. Kittles also hits Cindy over the head with a chair during the fight.
Eventually they come to exchanging blows and Mr. Kittles knocks Cindy out cold.
This hilarious scene is achieved with a combination of a real cat actors and cat puppetry, the same used to animate Salem on Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Elvis was the main cat actor from Performing Animal Troupe for the Sabrina series and the fact that a similar puppet as Salem is used makes this especially funny.
In an alternative ending, Mr. Kittles returns dressed as a World War II kamikaze pilot and bombs Cindy.
Final Mewsings: Don’t disrespect a cat’s litter box!
