Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Fishing boat captain Baker Dill (Matthew McConaughey) lives in a secluded island community without a care until his ex-wife Karen (Anne Hathaway) appears asking for a favor that will shake up his reality.

Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): Dill is romantically involved with a woman named Constance (Diane Lane) who owns an unnamed black cat who never seems to be home. The cat is first seen outside Dill’s home where Dill tells him (or her) that “Mama wants you home.” Dill tends to call the pet Kitty Cat.

Later Constance shows up at Dill’s house and says she’s looking for her damn cat. In a long shot we see the cat is not far away.

Dill next finds the cat in the back of his truck. He picks it up and puts it in the cab to take back to Constance, hoping for sex in return.

As things become more complicated and confusing, Dill is surprised to see the cat walking down the pier near his boat as Constance watches from a distance.
