Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains a spoiler for this episode!
Synopsis: The American incarnation of the popular British series features the dysfunctional Gallagher family living on the fringe of society in Chicago.
Kitty Cameo: In the opening scene of the series the father, Frank (William H. Macy) is seen reveling with others around a fire as his voice-over gives descriptions of the members of his family. When he gets to Carl (Ethan Cutkosky), the second youngest boy, he says he doesn’t know much about him but then recounts how he loves animals and how he’s always dragging home some poor stray and taking them up to his room. The visuals during Frank’s descriptions are the opposite of what he’s saying and what we see is Carl with a welder’s mask and torch holding a scraggly calico cat, who understandably looks concerned.
Final Mewsings: Cats do not like to be welded.
