Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Mirabelle (Claire Danes) works at the glove counter at Saks Fifth Avenue and finds herself in romantic situations with two very different men.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): Mirabelle owns a cat named Sylvia who is not seen through most of the movie. In fact in an early scene Mirabelle is calling for the cat, offering a bowl of food, but Sylvia does not come. But later Mirabelle is making out with Jeremy (Jason Schwartzman) on Mirabelle’s bed. Sylvia the cat picks this time to show up, batting at the Jeremy’s underwear which are hanging from his ankle.
Sylvia jumps up on the bed and watches the couple. Her head moves back and forth as she observes something.
Sylvia finally bats out with her paw and Jeremy cries out in pain, saying the cat had batted his balls.
Two cats were reportedly used for this part; one who could jump and one who could watch.
The cat turns up again later in the film sitting on the bed.
Final Mewsings: Cats will come out of hiding to play with balls.
