Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: In a run-down, suburban Bangkok hospital, a young doctor and seven nurses run a scheme to sell dead bodies on the black market. However, when one of the nurses, Tahwaan (Chol Wachananont), finds out that her boyfriend, the doctor, has been having an affair with another nurse she threatens to call the police. Before she can act, the doctor and the other nurses kill her, intending to make hers the latest body for sale. But the spirit of Tahween returns seeking revenge and uses each of the nurses’ obsessions to torment and ultimately kill them.
Kitty Cameo: One of the nurses, Jo (Dollaros Dachapratumwan), suffers from an eating disorder and prior to the killing of Tahwaan we see her making herself sick and weighing it. She then crosses to where her ginger tabby kitten is licking at something on the floor.
Minor Kitty Carnage Warning! Grabbing the kitty roughly by the scruff of the neck, she tells him, “You cannot eat yet. Do you want to become a fat pig?” She adds, “I’ll keep an eye on your weight for you!” before tossing him aside with a dismissive “Get out of here!”
After Tahwaan returns to wreak revenge, Jo finds herself trapped in a room with the vengeful spirit who forces Jo to mutilate herself, resulting in her tongue being severed (and far worse!), at which point the kitten reappears sitting on a table behind Tahwaan.
The kitten jumps down onto the floor.
And approaches the tongue . . .
. . . before starting to lick at it.
Final Mewsings: Brings a whole new meaning to the phrase “Cat got your tongue?”
