Synopsis: In 1950 on San Pedro Island in the American Pacific Northwest the body of commercial fisherman Carl Heine Jr.’s (Eric Thal) is pulled from the sea. He died of head trauma and another fisherman, Kazuo Miyamoto (Rick Yune), is charged with his murder. Carl and Kazuo were once friends but grew apart when WWII put a strain on their relationship. Local news reporter Ishmael Chambers (Ethan Hawke) might be able to prove Kazuo’s innocence but has an agenda of his own.
Kitty Cameo: Defense Counsel Nels Gudmundsson (Max von Sydow) returns home at the end of another day in court and is greeted by his brown tabby cat. He even offers the kitty a sniff of his teacup.



Final Mewsings: Tea for two includes tabbies, too.
