Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: An ambitious young man named Sam Sparks (Shaun Evans) moved to London to seek his fortune and ends up in a complicated set of relationships.
Kitty Cameo: When Sam and his mother Jill (Lesley Manville) move into the apartment below a friend named Vince (Bob Hoskins) they see a dirty litter box. Vince’s father, who has recently left the apartment to go to assisted living, owned a cat. Vince removes the box and explains the cat has gone to live with a Mrs. Dawkins. Jill is later seen boarding up the cat flap in the door. But halfway through the film a longhaired black and white tuxedo cat is sitting outside the window.
Jill spots the cat and is excited. She opens up the cat flap again.
Despite this promising start the cat is only seen one more time, carried into the apartment by Vince following Jill. “That cat doesn’t know if it’s coming or going,” Jill complains. “Have we got a cat now?” Sam asks. “Vince gave it away but it keeps finding its way back,” Jill explains.
Final Mewsings: Apparently the cat stopped finding its way into the movie.
Many thanks to Mark Murton for letting us know about the cat in this film!
