Directed by: Roland Emmerich
Synopsis: A team of soldiers accompanied by a historical linguist travel through a mysterious gate into a world that exists across the known universe.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): At one point the linguist, Dr. Daniel Jackson (James Spader), wakes up after being revived by a strange machine. A young boy dressed in Egyptian-style garb appears, holding an Abyssinian cat.
The boy looks at Daniel for a few moments, then runs away. The cat is not seen again, at least not in the original release of the film.
There is an extended scene in the special edition of the film. Daniel enters the empty throne room of System Lord Ra where the Abyssinian cat is sitting on the throne.
Daniel pauses to pet the cat.
Both Daniel and the cat notice the boy who is hiding behind a pillar.
The cat sits up and watches as Daniel leaves, following the boy.
Final Mewsings: Cats know their proper place in a throne room!
Many thanks to Anne Ratia for providing information and grabs of the special edition scenes from this film.
