Pickford Film
Starring: Mary Pickford, Conway Tearle
Directed by: Marshall Neilan
Synopsis: Stella Maris (Mary Pickford) is a rich crippled girl who has been sheltered from the harsh realities of life. Meanwhile, homely Unity Blake (also played by Pickford) has seen more than her fair share of cruel reality.
Cat Burglars (Scene Stealers): Stella’s reporter friend John Risca (Conway Tearle) sometimes brings animals for Stella to play with while she is confined to bed. One time he brings he a basket of bunnies. Another time she is seen playing with a bunch of kittens, all of them with ribbons around their necks (it’s not clear if John also brought her the kittens).
Stella’s constant pet is her dog Teddy. Teddy suffers the new animals with some jealousy, although he is patient. He sits beside her bed and tolerates the kittens, even when she places one on his head.
Eventually Stella gets another pet, a Pomeranian, from John but the other animals are not seen again.
Final Mewsings: So what happened to the bunnies and the kittens?
