Synopsis: Teenage runaways Cookie (Melissa Leo) and her younger brother Tim (Randall Batinkoff) arrive in New York after fleeing their mother’s abusive boyfriend. At the train station they encounter the initially charming but later increasingly unhinged Duke (Dale Midkiff) who soon has Cookie working as one of his prostitutes.
Kitty Cameo: Cookie and Tim get an apartment which they share with Heather, another of Duke’s girls. A fourth inhabitant is a brown tabby and white cat who saunters in as Cookie puts some cat food into a dish on the floor.

The cat rubs up against her before tucking into the food.

Final Mewsings: Cats don’t walk the streets for anyone but themselves.
