Stuber (2019)

Directed by: Michael Dowse

This review contains a slight Kitty Carnage Warning!

Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Detective Vic Manning (Dave Bautista) enlists the aid of Uber driver Stu (Kumail Nanjiani) when he sets out to catch the man who killed his partner.

Kitty Cameo (with slight Kitty Carnage Warning): Vic and Stu end up in a shoot out at a veterinarian’s office. During the fight, Stu throws cans at the bad guys which allows Vic, who is temporarily blind, to fire at them. The last can Stu throws misses, but the bad guy steps on the tail of a white cat which screeches a classic “poor cat” screech. Fortunately it is clear the cat and tail used in the shot are fake.

Vic shoots the guy and when he goes to check the long-haired white cat is sitting on the dead man’s chest.

The cat remains in place as Vic searches the man for his cell phone.

Final Mewsings: Cats are happy when their tails are not actually stepped upon.
