Synopsis: Detective Imanishi (Tetsurô Tanba) tries to track down the killer of an elderly ex-policeman, exploring many outlying regions to piece together the puzzle of the man’s mysterious murder, revealing a sad back story about humanity.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): One of the characters in the film is a famous composer named Eiryo Waga (Gô Katô) who is engaged to the former Finance Minister’s daughter, Sachiko (Karin Yamaguchi). In one scene they are in Eiryo’s apartment as he is composing his next masterpiece entitled Destiny. Sachiko is in the foreground holding a tabby kitten with a blue ribbon around its neck.
Sachiko walks to the piano and hands the kitten to Eiryo. He pets the kitten as they talk about the musical piece.
Eiryo stands up, still holding the kitten which playfully bats about his shirt collar.
Eventually Eiryo sets the kitten down and it walks back to Sachiko. We can now see the kitten is also a Manx!
