Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: A spoof of the popular Thunderbirds television series which starred puppets. Spottswoode (voiced by Daran Norris), the enigmatic commander of Team America, his supremely vigilant counterterrorist martial force, recruits All-American actor Gary Johnson (voiced by Trey Parker) to use his amazing performance and world language skills to spy on foreign terrorists who are intent on destroying the American way of life. The versatile group consists of Joe Smith (voiced by Trey Parker), all-star quarterback and natural leader; Sarah Wong (Masasa Moho), top empath from the Berkeley School for the Clairvoyant; Chris Roth (voiced by Matt Stone), the best martial arts expert Detroit has to offer; and Lisa Jones (voiced by Kristen Miller), the blonde psychology expert with whom Gary quickly establishes a tender romantic relationship.
Purr Blur: An Egyptian woman shakes out her rug from an upper terrace, her grey cat (not real, obviously) near her on the rail.
Cat Burglars (Scene Stealers): Joe and Sara are caught in a trap and threatened by a pair of savage black panthers (represented by two handsome black cats).
They are scant moments away from a grisly death when the spunky empath uses her awesome powers to divert the cats to attack the treacherous Sean Penn (voiced by Trey Parker) and Danny Glover (voiced by Matt Stone).
The cats jump through a glass barrier and proceed to rip Sean Penn and Danny Glover to pieces. In reality the cat actors were told by their trainers to find the chicken stuffed inside the necks of the puppets. Also the breaking glass was filmed separately as a special effect and the cats were in no danger.
Final Mewsings: Those two cats would make a great addition to Team America.
