Starring: Rob Schneider, Colleen Haskell, John C. McGinley
Directed by: Luke Greenfield
Synopsis: Marvin Mange (Rob Schneider) is a meek, wanna-be police officer who is rescued from a devastating accident by a mad doctor who rebuilds him using animal parts, opening up a whole new world to the now man beast.
Purr Blur: In one scene Marvin visits the animal shelter where Rianna (Colleen Haskell), the girl he adores, works. As he helps to feed a baby turkey vulture (in an unusual way) a tabby cat can be seen sitting behind a plant nearby.
Kitty Cameo: Later the police attend a function at a fancy mansion. Marvin spots an orange tabby cat on a porch.
The cat hisses at Marvin and Marvin hisses back.
And the chase is on! They run past guests sitting at tables.
The cat then runs across the bandstand and Marvin follows, toppling the musicians.
Finally the cat lunges into a bush and Marvin follows. There is the sound of fighting and orange fur goes flying. When the cat emerges he is missing patches of fur. According to the American Humane Association, five cats were on call for this scene but only one cat actor appeared on screen. A professional groomer sheared the patches from the cat’s body and apparently the cat didn’t mind getting the weird fur cut.
Final Mewsings: Cats shouldn’t mess with man-beasts.
