Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: A small Idaho city is menaced by a monster who seems to have some connection to the nuclear waste dumpsite on the outskirts of town.

Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): Near the end of the film police detective Mortimer Lutz (Bill Osco billed as Rexx Coltrane) and the nuclear site’s hired scientist and advocate Garson Jones (Martin Landau) have barely escaped from the monster while searching the grounds of the dump site. They take shelter in a small office but cannot find a phone. Opening a cupboard the men are treated to a Spring Loaded Cat who turns out to be an adorably furry little silver Persian.

As the men laugh and leave the room, the cat pokes around a desk for something to eat and momentarily gets their face stuck in a styrofoam cup.

As Lutz and Jones continue to search the facility, the latter notices the cat scurrying across the room and smiles, shaking his head in amusement.

Kitty Carnage Warning! They are about to leave but Jones, having an actual moment of concern for something other than his job, mentions they can’t leave the cat there. The men search for the kitty only to have Lutz come across some gruesome remains which include tufts of white fur.

Final Mewsings: We understand the cat wanted to hide, but how did the kitty close the cupboard door?

Many thanks to Melanie for letting us know about the cat in this film.
