Original Air Date: January 27, 1965
Starring: Donna Douglas, Buddy Ebsen
Directed by: Joseph Depew
Synopsis: Elly May (Donna Douglas) is downhearted when movie star Dash Riprock (Larry Pennell) supposedly throws her over for Ms. Hathaway (Nancy Kulp).
Kitty Cameo: Granny (Irene Ryan) looks out the back window and sees Elly May sitting with her critters who are worried about her. On a bench several dogs are lined up looking at her with apparent concern. Included in the doggy lineup is Rusty the cat (played once again by cat actor Orangey).
Elly’s dog Wilbur brings Elly May a stick as the other animals watch, but Elly is too sad to play fetch.
The dogs and cat all turn their heads to follow the supposed movement of Wilbur as he next brings Elly May a puppy. Even that does not cheer her up.
Finally her chimpanzee Bessie brings her a checker board but even that does not cheer up Elly May.
Final Mewsings: Animals are sympathetic about broken hearts.
