Original Air Date: October 18, 1967
Starring: Orangey
Directed by: Joseph Depew
Synopsis: As Jethro (Max Baer) prepares to go into the Army, Granny (Irene Ryan) insists on giving him his physical.
Cat Burglars (Scene Stealers): The episode begins with Jed (Buddy Ebsen) on the phone with Miss Hathaway (Nancy Kulp). He is feeding a bear cub with a baby bottle and explains about caring for Elly’s critters while she has been gone. Miss Hathaway offers to come over and help him with the other animals and Jed explains that Cousin Bessie is taking care of them. Bessie, a chimpanzee wearing a blue gingham dress, walks through the scene pulling a red wagon fill with puppies and kittens.
Purr Blurs: In a later scene Miss Hathaway drives up to the Clampett’s home with Elly May (Donna Douglas) and her critters. Sitting on the back of the car is Orangey.
Oddly enough when the animals are shown piling out of the car, Orangey is nowhere in sight. Instead an orange and white tabby cat is among the critters leaving the vehicle.
Final Mewsings: Cat actors trust the director and editor to deal with continuity.
