Synopsis: Robert Miles (Patrick Magee) is a psychic who experiments in recording the voices of the dead.  When photographer Jill Trevers (Mimsy Farmer) comes to the small British village where he lives, she becomes interested in his work, but a series of mysterious deaths sparks concern from Robert and Jill that his black cat is somehow responsible.  Regardless of the danger, Inspector Gorley (David Warbeck) of Scotland Yard is determined to uncover the truth.

Bad Kitty: The cat really is the focus of this movie, unlike many other cat horror films where the felines play only a minor role.  The question throughout is really whether or not the cat is behind the killings.  We won’t spoil the movie by answering that question here.  The opening and ending segments are particularly well done.

The opening credits say this is loosely based on the Edgar Allan Poe story of the same name, but the truth is only the last ten minutes or so of the film have anything to do with that story.  But if you like to see black cats wreak havoc on unwary British country folk, then this is the perfect movie.

The cats for this film were trained by Pasquale Martino of Rome & Animals Unlimited, London.

Kitty Carnage Warning: There is violence against the cat in this film and some it is quite disturbing.  But for the most part it’s the cat inflicting pain on the humans.  Note that this movie also contains nudity (of the human variety.)

Final Mewsings: This black cat is one perpetually pissed pussy.
