Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This reviews contains minor spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: The story of an idealistic young doctor named Andrew Manson (Robert Donat) who strives to make improvements in medical procedures in the Welsh mining town where he sets up his practice.  He is particularly concerned with finding the cause of the workers’ chronic cough, which he deduces has something to do with the coal dust to which they are exposed.  He meets an energetic schoolteacher named Christine, who becomes an ally, and his friend Dr. Denny (Ralph Richardson) lives by the same ideals.  But when Dr. Manson becomes a high-paid physician to the London elite, he risks losing sight of his original goals.

Purr Blur: At one point Dr. Manson and Dr. Denny take drastic measures to help rid the town of typhoid.  As they are carrying out their clandestine mission, Dr. Denny’s dog is distracted by a cat nearby.  The gray and white cat is sitting by a wall and leaps to the top of a slanted tin roof to avoid the dog (not seen in the same shot.)  The scene cuts away before the cat is off screen, but it looks like he may very well have fallen off!

Final Mewsings: Cats may always land on their feet, but a slanted tin roof is still a challenge!
