Synopsis: Erik (Brad Renfro) is a lone teenager who befriends his neighbor Dexter (Joseph Mazzello), a boy with AIDS, and becomes determined to find a cure for his new friend.
Kitty Cameo: Dexter and his mother Linda (Annabella Sciorra) own a long-haired gray and white cat which is seen in the background of several scenes, particularly when Erik is doing some experimenting in his search for a cure.
The cat is sometimes the focus of a shot added as a quick interstitial scene.
One time Linda comes home and sees the cat on the table. She pauses to push the cat off.
The animal wrangler working on the film was Barbara O’Brien with The Animal Connection.
