Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: A look at the race to commercialize the use of electricity throughout America by Thomas Edison (Benedict Cumberbatch), George Westinghouse (Michael Shannon) and Nikola Tesla (Nicholas Hoult).

Purr Blur: One segment of the film deals with Edison’s experiments toward the use of electrocution as a means of prison execution. Unfortunately the early experiments were carried out on animals, including cats. No cats are seen being killed, but a quick segment shows Edison’s pre-cinematic device of using a sequence of photographs taken of an animal running streamed together to show movement. A tabby cat is seen running via these photos.
