Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: A group of young people are caught in an alien invasion in Moscow and must fight to survive the invisible electrical beasts stalking them.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): The group follow a light in an apartment window and find a young woman named Vika (Veronika Vernadskaya) and an older man named Sergei (Dato Bakhtadze). Sergei is an electrical engineer and has built a Faraday cage within his apartment to keep the creatures from seeing them. Vika introduces them to DJ Lance Rock, a ginger tabby cat who is wearing a little Faraday suit of his own.
It’s clear that Sergei is strongly attached to DJ Lance Rock, as he sings to the cat and has a photo of him.
Sergei explains to the newcomers how he has invented a microwave gun which may slow down or even disable the creatures. When one of the creatures chases the girls back to the apartment and gets inside, Sergei fires the gun at the creature. DJ Lance Rocks tears out the front door (with the standard cat screech sound effect) never to be seen again.
Concept art shows a better view of what the cat’s personal Faraday cage is supposed to look.
Final Mewsings: DJ Lance Rock is still trying to figure out how to get out of that outfit.
