Synopsis: Buddies Zeke (Michael Abbot Jr.) and Earl (Andre Hyland) try to cover up their involvement in the death of their friend Dick after a night of “getting weird.”
Kitty Cameo: As Zeke starts to weave a poorly conceived web of lies to try and avoid telling his family and the police how Dick sustained the injuries that lead to his death, Earl returns home and hurriedly starts throwing his possessions into the back of his pick-up, intending to leave town. He loads the truck while a Himalayan cat is sitting by one of the wheels (although the cat is not in the long shot that immediately follows!)
Earl’s girlfriend Lake (Sunita Mani) rocks up and clearly doesn’t believe his story of “an emergency; not an emergency emergency, just like a normal emergency,” but lets it go and instead asks, “Need me to feed your animals?” “I hadn’t thought of that,” admits Earl as Lake squats down to stroke the departing cat. The end credits state that the cats were provided by Rebecca Sheehan (we assume that by cats they mean the cat shown and their understudy).
Final Mewsings: If you find yourself having to take it on the lam, be sure to provide for your pets.
