Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: In this Paramount Noveltoon, a little blind girl named Billie (voiced by Cecil Roy) makes friends with Raggedy Ann (voiced by Joyce Terry) who helps the little girl to see with her heart.
Cartoon Cats: As the cartoon begins, Officer Flanagan (voiced by Jackson Beck) is walking his beat when he finds the discarded doll in a trash bin. As the officer approaches an organ grinder named Mr. Guiseppe, an orange and cream cat appears being chased by a dog.
The cat then jumps up on Mr. Guiseppe’s head and they struggle before both the cat and dog jump up on and over the music organ.
Later when Billie and Raggedy Ann are in the Enchanted Square, a dog and cat again appear, only this time the cat is chasing the dog!
They appear to be made of cloth (like the Calico Cat and the Gingham Dog) and the animals again leap upon Mr. Guiseppe who is playing a large pipe organ.
The dog and cat scatter the man’s music sheets and argue for a moment before both jump behind the instrument.
Final Mewsings: Cats don’t always appreciate music when they’re chasing or being chased.
